Abstract: Hydatid disease caused by Echinococcus granulosus is a common occurrence in liver and lungs. Isolated renal hydatid cyst without liver or lung involvement is extremely rare. We present a case of solitary renal hydatid disease diagnosed radiologically as a renal malignancy and intraoperatively suspected as a case of renal tuberculosis due to the extensive necrotic material and as the patient was a treated case of pulmonary tuberculosis. Diagnosis of renal hydatid disease was confirmed on histopathology
