dc.description.abstract | Osteoporosis is a systemic skeletal disease characterized by low bone mass and micro-architectural deterioration of bone tissue, with a consequent increase in bone fragility and susceptibility to fracture. Postmenopausal women due to the various hormonal factors are at increased risk. Bone mineral density (BMD) measurements are gold standard in calculating bone mass, the changes are usually late and the damage is irreversible. This study was done to evaluate the rate of bone loss in postmenopausal women by measuring Serum Total Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP | en_US |
