Abstract: Renal dysfunction after cardiopulmonary bypass (CBP) ranges from subclinical injury to established renal failure requiring dialysis. The pathophysiology is multifactorial, and recently, hemodilution during CBP has been thought to be an important determinant of postoperative renal injury.
